Pampers partners with PARKnSHOP for the fourth consecutive year
To thank all foster moms in Hong Kong for their selfless love and care

Every year, thousands of children in Hong Kong face challenges or changes in their families of origin and need to be cared for by foster families so that they can continue to grow up in a safe and stable environment until they return to their families of origin, are adopted, or are able to live independently as adults. Although foster mothers are not biologically related to their foster children, they treat them as if they were their own, and protect each fragile child with selfless love. This Mother's Day, Pampers, a brand of P&G Hong Kong, and PARKnSHOP collaborate for the fourth year to promote the "Onward Foster Moms" program. From May 10 to June 6, for every purchase of HK$799 or more of Pampers products at PNS eShop, we will send a "Foster Mom's Gift Pack" to nearly 700 foster families through 11 foster family service organizations in Hong Kong and provide a one-month supply of Pampers diapers for foster children under the age of 3 in appreciation of foster mothers' selflessness and dedication.

Pampers invites the public to honor the amazing foster mothers

Since 2021, Pampers and PARKnSHOP have launched the "Onward Foster Moms" program to support 11 foster family service organizations in Hong Kong, so that more people in the community can know more about foster families, understand the needs of foster children, and further join the ranks of foster families. From May 10 to June 6 this year, for every Pampers product purchase of HK$799 or more at PNS eShop, Pampers and PARKnSHOP will send a set of "Foster Mom's Gift Pack" to the foster families and provide a one-month supply of Pampers diapers for the foster children under the age of 3, to show appreciation to the foster mothers for their selfless dedication to the families, and at the same time to let the foster children be surrounded by love and grow up happily and healthily as they wait for the return of their family.

Foster children are often neglected or mistreated due to challenges and changes in their family of origin, and need more love and tolerance. Foster mothers not only provide them with a warm and stable living environment but also have to put in extra effort and love to help the children regain a sense of security, rebuild their self-confidence, and develop their personalities.

A short time in foster care and a lifetime of bonding

Foster mom Mrs. Shum was encouraged by her daughter to start her career as a foster mom, and has served as a foster family for over 30 years, caring for nearly 20 foster children. Even for foster children with Down Syndrome and special needs, she still treats them as if they were her own so that they can feel the warmth and motherly love that their family of origin lack. Mrs. Shen's children have been nurtured by their mother, who has cared for the foster children with her, accompanying them as they grow up.

Mrs. Shum's previous foster child, Kiki, is now 29 years old. Kiki was brought to Mrs. Shum's home when she was three months old due to problems in her family of origin. During her six years of foster care in Mrs. Shen's home, she not only experienced Mrs. Shen's selfless dedication, but also witnessed Mrs. Shen's infinite tolerance and love for children with Down Syndrome, which made her realize that it is a blessing to be able to help others. Therefore, she joined a social welfare organization as a vocational guidance counsellor for the disabled and handicapped to exert her influence when she grew up.

After Kiki left Mrs. Shum's home, she maintained close contact with Mrs. Shen as if they were family members. Kiki even reserved a bedroom in her home for Mrs. Shen in appreciation of her kindness in raising her. Although foster care life is temporary, foster mothers provide infinite support and encouragement to children during their most critical stage of growth, allowing them to rebuild trust in their daily lives, and to embark on a new chapter of their own lives with courage and hope in the future.
