P&G and Chinese Academy of Sciences Sign MOU for Strategic Alliance in Science and Technology Innovation

P&G and the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) organized a signing ceremony on an MOU in science and technology innovation. In the ceremony, Mr. Maurizio Marchesini, P&G Global Technology President and Dr. Tan Tieniu, Deputy Secretary General of CAS, representing both organizations, signed the MOU, whereas Mr. Cao Jinghua, Deputy Director General of the Bureau of International Cooperation from CAS, hosted the signing ceremony.

The MOU was signed to bring the cooperation between the two institutions up to the next level and to enhance the integration of resources. Under the MOU, P&G will cooperate with CAS’s main scientific research institutes on specific projects to accelerate science and technology innovation in FMCG industry to improve the lives of consumers in China and international markets. The agreement designates several key partnership areas, including renewable materials and petroleum-alternative products development, surface science technologies, and consumer research.

CAS represents China’s leading scientific talent and innovation. P&G and CAS has been working side by side for almost 15 years. The two institutions have come together to innovate on 23 projects successfully; and P&G has supported 400 Chinese scientists to receive advanced degrees. “P&G looks forward to connecting and developing with CAS in the long run to create joint value for our company, China’s top scientists, and consumers in China and around the world,” said Maurizio Marchesini, P&G Global Technology President.
